How to Find Discount Hunting Clothes

Discount hunting clothes will give any outdoorsman or woman the ability to enjoy their pursuits while saving money in an already expensive hobby.

Finding discount hunting clothes isn’t the easiest thing to do, but these tips will give you a leg up in your quest for inexpensive clothing you can wear while searching for that buck or tom you’ve had your eyes on all season.

Sales and Classifieds

For starters, think about garage sales, estate sales, and even thrift shops as potential destinations for finding clothes to wear in the field. Boots, gloves, hats and other accessories can be found as well, and though they are used, will likely have a much lower price than brand new items.

Try the classified ads in newspapers, or websites like Craigslist and eBay. They can be great sources of cheap clothing that may not be specifically created for hunters, but can be used effectively by them all the same.

If you do decide to purchase someone second hand, be sure to verify the legitimacy of the seller and the product in whatever means possible. Don’t bother with anything that seems sketchy or out of the ordinary.

Also, clearance sales from major retailers, such as Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s, can help hunters save money on clothes. Just because a camo shirt is from last year’s line doesn’t mean it will be any less effective in hiding you from that deer’s eyesight. Plus, many of these retailers offer used items like firearms and other gear, which will almost certainly carry a lower price tag.

It’s worth it to consider taking advantage of these sales and buying off-season clothing that is discounted to make room for the new arrivals.

Out-of-Season Buys

Just because deer season is likely coming to a close doesn’t mean this isn’t a good time of year to purchase hunting clothing, because it will hopefully be at a discount.

Judging by the increase in hunting’s popularity, more and more people are choosing to participate year after year. Many of these same people began hunting as a way to help save money and provide food for their families. It’s a cheaper method compared to visiting the grocery store, and many of those same principles apply to the gear and clothing they look to purchase as well.

Camouflage and blaze orange clothing are always going to be available, and shopping around to find the best prices is worth it. Blaze orange will never change, and camo patterns, though touted frequently and updated constantly, don’t need to be brand new to work well.

We all know that hunting isn’t a cheap hobby. We should be constantly looking for ways to save, unless of course we’re made of money. In all honestly, the deer don’t care what you wear, and if it’s discounted, then that’s all the better. As long as you’re warm, comfortable and able to withstand the elements, you’ll be wearing the right clothes.

By seeking out discount hunting clothes, you will be making up for the license fees and possible outfitting costs that can add up quickly.
